The Fitties C.I.C. was initially set up in 2016 by chalet owners to represent the community of Humberston Fitties Chalet Park.
Our community needed a response to the council’s decision to sell off the site at that point in time.
Through forming The Fitties C.I.C Community Interest Company, appointing three Directors – Bob Reynolds, Glen Sibbick and Andrew Senior – and creating a Steering Group of volunteers, we submitted a community bid to the local council to take over the management and running of the site.
A Steering Group was formed to help set up the company and to work towards putting our bid together.
Our aims at the time were to seek the views of residents, chalet owners and visitors to the site and find out what makes this place so special and how we can preserve, as well as enhance, what it has to offer.
While the initial purpose of The Fitties C.I.C. – bidding for the Head Lease of the site – has long since passed by, the importance of its mission and the relevance of its underpinning values is still relevant, and perhaps more relevant than ever before.
